2010 - Rooflections v Bombers

As the boys took on the under-performing Bombers over the weekend, many of our supporters went along to the game expecting to see an easy victory - but it wasn't to be.

With Pratt, Grima and Wells all needing to be replaced on the day of the match, and David Hale fronting up for 2 games in a row, there are no excuses, but it is a little wonder that the side was unsettled.

On a postive note, Andrew Swallow played one of the best games of his career, and it did seem to come down to the team being a bit unlucky with some of the umpiring decisions and the controversial delayed call on the abilty to play Hale (or any other player) that took place on the day.

Hopefully the boys will turn up to play against the Aker-less Doggies this weekend, and continue to fight for a place in the finals - which would be such fantastic experience for our young team.

Aside from the on-field result, the Northerners had one of their best functions for the year, with AFL Legend, Ron Barassi in attendance together with Australian film producer Simon Wincer addressing the room (Simon is renowned for his production of films such as Crocadile Dundee 2, the Phantom with Billy Zane and Catherine Zeta Jones; Free Willy and of course the upcoming movie, "The Cup").

We also heard from Robbie Tarrant and had Michael Firrito's parents and partner in the room, together with Drew Petrie who game up to say g'day to our members and Louise Asher MP. 

Last but not least, CEO Eugene Arocca also popped in to update the Northerners on the rumoured Tassie deal!

It is night's like this that show exactly why you want to be a part of the North Melbourne coterie, the Northerners.
