THE NORTHERNERS
Welcome to Season 2012.
On behalf of the new committee and office holders we welcome all Northerner members and also potential new members to Season 2012.
This season promises to be a step ahead for the team and we are all looking forward to an exciting and exhilarating season.
I am thrilled to have been elected the President of The Northerners for season 2012 and I'd like to thank the outgoing committee and office holders for an amazing effort. I would also like to on behalf of all Northerners thank Caroline Carnegie for 8 fantastic years as Northerners President during which time she was instrumental in making the Northerners the most successful coterie in the AFL.
The newly elected committee of myself, Andrew Swinson, Matt Egan and continuing committee members, Peter Sturton-Gill and Peter Williams hope to continue on the fine tradition of the Northerners.
The draw this season has us playing several blockbuster games against traditional Victorian rivals and we have also done a deal with Etihad that see us having two great formal functions against Esseendon and Collingwood later in the season when we are the visiting team.
We have attached a link above to this years exciting package options but as always we can tailor packages to suit your specific requiremnts.
We are looking now at making the Western Bulldogs game a formal sit down function even though it is listed as a sit down casual function on the schedule of events details on the packages. More on that to follow.
Again this year we will be having our season launch which is on March 14th (details below) as well as our coaches dinner which will be held Thursday 21st April at venue TBC and The Northerners Ball on June 9th..
In closing we are all very excited and looking forward to the challenge of making The Northerners the best football function in Melbourne.

Season Launch
The season launch for 2012 will be held at QC Bar and Restaurant at 113 Queen St Melbourne on Wednesday March 14th at 630 for 7pm. The night will be a cocktail style with outstanding finger food and drinks.
NMFC CEO Eugene Arocca will be in attendance as will other members of NMFC Administration and coaching staff.

Golf Challenge
The Essendonians have thrown down a challenge to The Northerners that we cant play golf and they are pretty special..Well, we'll see about that. We have accepted their challenge gladly and we are now looking for 16 golfers to take on their 16 in 4 groups of four. We will be attracticing a few NMFC celebs to help us out and it promises to be a great day..Venue is The National Golf Club on Thursday March 22nd followed by a dinner whereby I expect they will hand us over the inaugrural trophy.
Dinner will follow the golf with prizes and I'd suggest a fair bit of winners are grinners banter.
Anyone interested let the committee know ASAP and any sponsors welcomed.
Cost is $185 for golf and dinner which includes green fees, golf cart and exceptional BBQ dinner.
Dinner only is $85 and all welcome. Golf numbers limited so book early.

Own a slice of NMFC History!
We are pleased to announce that the Northerners has a great opportunity for you to acquire a unique portrayal of a significant part of North Melbourne's history!
Jamie Cooper painted a very special piece entitled "The Moment" to honour the Roos 1996 Centenary Premiership.
The piece is a one-off and we have the original for sale and on offer to our members (see attached).
For those of you that don't know Jamie Cooper is a former professional AFL player having played 26 senior AFL games for Fitzroy before he became well known as the artist of most "Team of he Century" paintings and other momentous football occasions and personalities.
The painting is framed and is 1.55m tall by 2.15m wide.
As we head towards Christmas we would love to sell this fantastic piece and make a bit of extra money for the club.
On that basis, we thought we would open it up to our members to bid on the item (starting at $15,000).
Included with this one-off original painting is dinner for you and 3 friends with our 1996 Captain, Wayne Carey together with a signed silk for each of the Roos current Captain and Vice-Captain Brent Harvey and Drew Petrie.

Hobart matches season 2012
This season see's us playing two games in Hobart. The Northerners has been offered a table at the presidents function at each of the games. As these Hobart functions were sold out within a couple of days of the club putting them together this is a great opportunity for The Northerenrs to follow and support the boys on this Hobart journey. Seats are limited so please let us know ASAP if you intend to come to these functions. It will be a first in basis of allocating the seats.

NORTHERNERS BALL
This season we will be having The Northerners Ball on June 9th. The night is the major Northereners fundraiser for the year and will incorporate a major auction or raffle item. The event will be a formal function with an opportunity for all to dress to impress in their favourite tuxedo and evening gown.
Details to follow on venue and structure of the night.
